A LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT
Hello neighbors,
First I want to remind everyone the BCHA Annual Meeting is Tuesday, October 12th, at the Bay Hills Golf Course clubhouse. We had to move it to a Tuesday this year instead of Wednesday because we could not find an open site that could accommodate us. All community members are welcome. Doors open at 7:30 and the meeting will start at 8 PM.

Second I wanted to thank everyone who helped set up and run the Community Luau Party at the pavilion on September 18th. We were surprised at the participation level from the community. Over 150+ community members attended.. We are greatly encouraged and hoping this is something that could become an annual event moving forward.
Lastly, I was invited to a Broadneck Community Council meeting this month to update community leaders on the status of the new replacement Bay Bridge. It seems the location of the replacement bridge is now set. Really there is no discussion about sites other than next to the current bridges. The process from here is the first study will end this winter. They’ll be a second study that could take 3 to 5 years. At that point funding and final construction approvals will be needed. It could be up to 7 to 10 years before anything happens. In the meantime we are held hostage off of College Parkway while the state struggles to find ways to address the overwhelming volume on Route 50. One thing that might push up the timetables is that the original bridge is already 20 years past its life expectancy.
I wish I could be more positive about this but solving our local traffic problems don’t seem to really be on anybody’s immediate radar. There may be some changes to the timing of lights on College Parkway. Other than that there are not any viable options.
