A LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT

Hello neighbors,

No BCHA board meeting this month. Next meeting with be Tuesday August 4th. For now we would like to have an in person meeting. If there are still restrictions we will continue with virtual meetings.

I have gotten several messages about trespassing on the golf course. Mainly about kids being on the course during the day and concerns about them getting hurt. Please talk to your children about this. The golf course is private property so they are trespassing if they are out on the course, but more importantly it they get hit and hurt it’s your responsibility.

Last please let us us know what your thoughts are about what we should do at the volleyball courts/pavilion. We have had about a 10% response rate so far. CLICK HERE TO TAKE THE SURVEY. If you didn’t have a chance last month please let us know your opinion. We will address this at the August board meeting!

Bay Hills We Need Your Help!

We’d like you to take a survey about what we should do with the Volleyball Court at the Pavilion. The issue now at the court is that the original liner below the sand was held down with metal clips. Those metal clips are rusting and decaying and are now sharp objects in the sand that make the court dangerous. We also have an issue with the retaining wall above the Pavilion that needs to be repaired. We would like your feedback on what to do with the courts. PLEASE CLICK HERE TO TAKE THE SURVEY!

Treasurers Report Ending June 30, 2020

The attached spreadsheet provides the account balances, income and expenditures for the month of June as well as year to date. We are currently 50% (6 months out of 12) of the way through the year, so you can compare where we are in any category against that figure. However, keep in mind there are several categories that don’t typically see any expenditures until later in the year (i.e., Annual Mtg. Cost and Ballots, Accounting Services, P.O. Box, County Taxes, and Tax Returns).

With regard to income, we are very much on track, despite COVID-19. We have collected 100.53% of our budgeted 2020 HOA Dues. Remember however, we set the dues collection at 87% of total owed, based on prior history. We have not however collected any late fees, as budgeted, nor have we collected any prior year’s dues to date. The board voted to suspend late fees for the time being, due to the economic hardships many may be feeling as a result of the pandemic. So, we are overall currently at 96.5% of expected revenue.

There are currently 99 households in arrears on 2020 dues. Of those 53 are also in arrears for prior years dues and fees. The highest amount in arrears, over and above just the 2020 amount, is $1,045.00 and the lowest is $206.76. There are an additional 20 households that owe and amount less than $150, ranging from $140.00 to $15.00.

All total the amount outstanding for 2020 and all prior years is now $27,490.12.

On the upside, you will see that we received payment from the insurance company for the damages to the tennis court and fence. In addition, we were credited by BB&T bank for $35 in service fees and we should not see any more fees going forward.

This has been an interesting month to do the budget. In addition to the above noted credits to the budget, we also learned that Union Bank had misapplied $166 to our account back in February, and they corrected that error in June. As such, our actual dues revenue posted in June reflects the removal from our account of the $166.We actually took in an additional $1,010.14 in June, but the $166 error correction makes our revenue for June $844.52
