Bay Hills Summer BBQ!

School is out and summer has begun! Come celebrate with the community! Meet us at the Pavilion at 4pm on Saturday June 15th. We will have burgers, hotdogs, water and beer provided. There will be yard games to enjoy as well as the playground for the kids. There is no obligation to bring any sides, however, if you are able, please sign up HERE so we can avoid doubles.There are a few ideas listed but if there is something else you would like to bring, please use the misc. option and comment with the item. We are excited to bring in the summer and celebrate with the neighbors! See you there!

A Letter from the President

Hello Neighbors,

There are several important items we need to make you aware of as we head into the summer. First of all the BHCA Board meeting regularly scheduled for the first Tuesday of each month is being moved to Wednesday June 5th at 7:30 pm at the Shore Acres Clubhouse. There will not be a July meeting as we usually skip this because of vacations. The next BHCA monthly meeting will be held on Tuesday August 6th at 7:30 pm.

Next, the replacement of the Basketball Courts will finally start in mid-June. It will be a 6-8 week project that will also include final road and curb repairs that were not finished during the end of the outfall replacement. The new courts will have 10 foot fences and dock style gates with keypads to improve safety. Only Bay Hills residents will have access. We will have more information about how to get the entrance codes in August.

We will also have repairs starting at the Pavilion that will require it to be closed for a period of time this summer. We will be selecting a contractor at the June Board meeting to replace the columns that support the roof. They have decayed over time and we will need to replace all of them this summer. The area will be fenced off to keep everyone out during construction.

The Community will host a Barbecue for residents on Saturday June 15th. Please go on to this link on the new Bay Hills website https://www.bayhillsonline.com/calendar/2019/6/15/summer-bbq-bash to register and get more details.

Remember the Dumpsters provided by the County will be in front of the Pavilion on June 19th and 20th. Will will send a list out that week with prohibited items.

Finally, with the start of the Summer season we see an increase of car break ins. I know of 3 in the last two weeks. Please lock your cars and if you see anything suspicious- please report it to 911 with as many details as possible. Every call helps police look for trends gives us data points if we want to go to them asking for extra help or patrols.

Minutes of Monthly Meeting- May 2019

Held on May 7, 2019 at the Shore Acres Clubhouse

In Attendance: David Eckels, Bob Ray, Nancy Fink, Dave Glaser, Annie Kersey, Mary Cortes, Oliver Perry

The meeting was called to order at 7:37 p.m. by President Dave Eckels.

Welcome & Approval of Meeting Minutes/Treasurer’s Report: Dave Eckels

  • No quorum; April 2018 meeting minutes not approved

  • The June meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 5 at the Shore Acres Clubhouse.

There is no July meeting scheduled.

Treasurer’s Report:

  • No quorum; April 2018 treasurer’s report not approved

  • The Board is looking into cost/efficiency of CPA audit of books versus reconciliation

  • BHCA bylaws need to be updated; current language is archaic

  • Income is relatively strong year to date; BHCA was refunded approximately $2,000 from AA County for loss of use and for waste collection reimbursement at the construction site near the community basketball courts

  • General budget line item revamp is needed this year

Communications:

  • Annie Kersey has created a new BHCA website to be launched in May.

  • The revamped site is user-friendly, scaleable, and flexible

  • Communication via the new site will be easy and timely

Property & Grounds:

  • Dumpsters are scheduled for June 19

  • The tennis courts need to be power-washed

  • The Pavilion needs structural work
