Halloween Parade

The Halloween Parade is this Sunday, October 30th at 5:00 p.m. This event is for all ages! Even if you don’t have a child in the parade, we would still love for you to attend and support all the kids dressed up!

Please meet at Golf Circle. The parade will walk the small loop from Golf Circle > Bay Green > Burning Tree > Augusta > and end back at Golf Circle. Afterwards everyone is invited to enjoy dinner from Hotdog Hideout and an outdoor kid friendly movie!

Pumpkin Carving Contest

Submit a picture of your carved pumpkin by 10/28 to Paige Skrickus on the Bay Hills Neighborhood Network Page on Facebook. Submissions will be posted in an album on Facebook for voting!

Let’s keep Halloween Safe in our Neighborhood! Here are a few Safety Tips to keep in mind!

Walk Safely

• Cross the street at corners

• Put electronic devices down, keep your head up, and walk

• Teach children to make eye contact with drivers before crossing in front of them.

• Always walk on sidewalks or paths. If there are no sidewalks, walk facing traffic

• Teach children never to dart out into the street or cross between parked cars.

Trick or Treat with an Adult

• Children under the age of 12 should not be alone at night without adult supervision. If kids are mature enough to be out without supervision, remind them to stick to familiar areas that are well-lit and trick-or-treat in groups.

Keep Costumes Both Creative and Safe

• Decorate costumes and bags with reflective tape

• Choose face paint and makeup whenever possible instead of masks, which can obstruct a child’s vision.

• Have kids carry glow sticks or flashlights to help them see and be seen by drivers.

Drive Extra Safe on Halloween

• Slow down and be alert

• Take extra time to look for kids at intersections, medians, and curbs.

• Popular trick-or-treating hours are 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., so be especially alert for kids during those hours.

Watch your Speed!

We have noticed an increase of cars speeding through our neighborhood. We are asking all neighbors to be vigilante of your speed and others. We are fortunate enough to have a great community for walking and biking. Please keep everyone safe by watching your speed.
